What I just read is one of the most insanely idiotic blog posts I have ever read. At no point in this rambling, incoherent blog post were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this discussion thread is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
Hilarious Blog post; how to extrapolate with math to nonsense ? Maybe it's advocating for more liberal build / downtown density policies (fine) ... I don't see how comparison to a galaxy far far away does the argument any favors.
It is a myth. Come to San Francisco where the building department is so corrupt every few years the FBI arrests the head director. Drive past the horrendous legacies of "affordable housing" the city erected in previous decades, such as the notorious Tenderloin.
I totally agree re: NIMBY. It reminds me of when people use the term libs.
Thanks Ben, the owners of well-located but fragmented land need more of this kind of figuring. I suggest they also need a new kind of property listing, one that solves their coordination problem when they try to assemble land on the required scale. My solution is here (https://crowdlands.substack.com/p/an-appeal-for-a-new-kind-of-property?r=uc0l). It can be seen as crowdsourcing applied to land and I'd love to hear what you and your readers think.
